The political discord in the tribe has led to members losing benefits, jobs and committee positions connected to tribal businesses, she said.
"One of the saddest things happening to California Indians is happening here," Griffith said.
Griffith said she has been working with Laura Wass, a Fresno-based representative of the American Indian Movement, who has advocated a takeover of tribal buildings for the past month so the tribe can make a statement opposing disenrollment.

"Now, they have to be willing to stay as long as it takes," Wass said.
Reid said that "the main plan was to deal with the Department of the Interior and the , but they have not recognized the election results. This is a process that their direction is saying to go."
Reached Monday evening, Troy Burdick, the BIA's Central California Agency superintendent in Sacramento, said, "I'm sure there is something we can do to resolve this. We are going to try to do what we can. I don't want to say anything to make it any worse."
