PESHAWAR, Pakistan — The head of a trade association for a large market in northwestern Pakistan says the Taliban have warned shopkeepers not to sell sex-related drugs like Viagra, or obscene films.
Shamsher Khan Afridi says he received a text message from the Pakistani Taliban on Saturday with the warning. Afridi said Monday that he distributed a pamphlet to thousands of shopkeepers in the Karkhano market in Peshawar city asking them to comply with the order.
Afridi said the Taliban's message warned that selling sex-related drugs and obscene movies was against Islam.
The Pakistani Taliban follow a hardline version of Islam and have bombed shops selling music and movies in Peshawar in the past. The group has also been waging a bloody insurgency against the government that has killed thousands.

IMPERIAL BEACH — A man who rang an intercom button at the Imperial Beach sheriff’s station on Wednesday told a deputy who answered the side door that he had just killed his wife, and a woman was found near a pickup truck in the parking lot with multiple stab wounds, authorities said.
The man was holding two toddlers in his arms and had a knife in his waistband when the deputy came to the door about 3:40 p.m., sheriff’s homicide Lt. Glenn Giannantonio said.
Deputies found the injured woman on the ground near a white Nissan Titan pickup in the parking lot of the station on Imperial Beach Boulevard. She was breathing, but died shortly afterward, the lieutenant said. The sheriff’s station is next to a fire station, but paramedics were unable to revive her.
The stabbing is believed to have occurred in the parking lot, Giannantonio said. A motive was not yet known.
The man was taken into custody and was being questioned at the station. The children were taken into protective custody. They were not harmed.
Both the man and woman are residents of San Diego, the lieutenant said. It was not known what they were doing in Imperial Beach and whether they indeed were married and if so for how long, Giannantonio said.
It was not disclosed if they were the parents of the toddlers. The ages and genders of the children were not released.
Giannantonio said he did not know how long the truck had been in the parking lot. The truck belonged to either the man or the woman, he said.
He said the man, who said “I just killed my wife,” did not resist being taken into custody. Without being asked to do so, the man took the knife out of his waistband and dropped it on the ground, the lieutenant said.
The adjacent sheriff’s and fire stations are part of the Imperial Beach Civic Center complex where City Council meetings are held. Giannantonio said the crime scene would be cleared in time for city employees to return to work Thursday.
The complex is across the street from a park and the city library.
Josie Dorado, a retired teacher’s aide and Imperial Beach resident for 49 years, watched from beyond the crime scene tape. “It is upsetting,” she said. She had been on her way to the library.
ALLAHABAD, India (Reuters) - A stampede at a railway station in northern India killed at least 36 Hindu pilgrims on Sunday, the busiest day of the world's largest religious festival at which some 30 million had gathered to wash away their sins in the sacred Ganges river.
Twenty-seven of the dead were women, mostly elderly and poor. An eight-year-old girl was also crushed to death. A Reuters witness saw a woman weeping at the train station, surrounded by six bodies dressed in brightly colored saris.
Up to 100 million pilgrims and Hindu ascetics are expected to attend the two-month long Kumbh Mela festival, which comes to an end next month.
It is held every 12 years in a temporary city covering an area larger than Athens, spread over a wide sandy river bank in Allahabad at the point where the Ganges and Yamuna rivers meet a third mythical river.
The festival grows in size every time it is held and is considered the world's largest temporary gathering of people. Officials said some 30 million visited the site on Sunday, considered the most auspicious day to bathe in the river.
Armed men on Sunday morning stormed a house in which
three Korean doctors were quartered at T Junction area, Potiskum LGA of Yobe
state and slaughtered them. These doctors were employed as specialists in Ear,
Nose& Throat; Acupuncture and Gynaecology. Their corpses have been conveyed
to Federal Medical Center, Azare. Three eyewitnesses yesterday gave chilling
accounts of how six gunmen murdered these three Korean doctors. According to
them, the hoodlums broke into the doctors apartment in the early hours of the
day and slit their throats. The operation lasted about 40 minutes. An
eyewitness named Mustapha, was peeping through a window when the attackers
stormed the apartment, the gunmen walked straight to the compound and broke the
gate to the main entrance. Mustapha said in a telephone interview
withus.
“I was peeping through the window when
six armed men walked to the house of doctors in this area. Two of the gunmen
took positions at the gate, while four entered the house. Ten minutes later, I
started hearing cries and yelling, probably from the gunmen giving orders to
their colleagues. But I cannot tell you whether all the three doctors were
killed or not, because I did not hear the sounds of any gunshot fired by the
suspects that night.” Another eyewitness, Isa Yakubu, said the gunmen
overpowered the doctors, tied their hands to their backs and slit their throats.
He added that the wives of the doctors were looking for help when the gunmen
escaped but could not find any help. Yakubu, who said that the attacks and
killings lasted about 40 minutes, added that the gunmen left the dismembered
head of one of the doctors on the apartment’s gate. Another eyewitness who
sought anonymity said the remains of the doctors were deposited in the Federal
Medical Centre, Azare, Bauchi State, because the morgue facility in Potiskum
General Hospital was ill-equipped. Confirming the incident yesterday, the
commissioner of police, Yobe State Command, Alhaji Sanusi Rufai, said the three
doctors were killed in the early hours of yesterday. He said the three men and a
woman were posted to the Potiskum General Hospital. Rufai said it was however
too early to know who was behind the attack. “Police have begun an
investigation. The victims were reportedly found inside their flat on Sunday
morning, after people became worried that they were not answering the door,” he
said. “Unfortunately, when they were posted and assumed duties as expatriates,
the police were not notified to give them adequate security coverage. As I am
talking to you now, I am in Potiskum. The three male health workers have been
confirmed dead while we are still working to uncover the details.” “For now,
we cannot say with certainty those behind it or what exactly happened,” he
said.
The message on the door was written by Dina to Jonah. It may have originally been HE SAVED HIM - YOU SAVE HER, then a sloppy "S" was added to the HE, and a "CAN" was added to the YOU SAVE HER. At that point Rebecca was in the chair bound with the bag and blanket over her head. The attack was botched, the sisters were spotted, they left in a hurry, and Adam was told to get Rebecca's body out of the house. Everything after was rigged by fraternal affiliation. There will NEVER be a prosecution.
Remember Maxie was still alive and no declining condition had been announced. That came after Rebecca's death. So the writer still considered Maxie "saved."
Who wrote what ? A bit more please ? Rebecca was alive in the chair at that point? So Adam finished the job?
What store did he get the rope and killing items ?
The watersports tow rope probably came from Jonah's boat Enato at the marina nearby. Rebecca was probably strangled by the person wearing the black gloves while the rubber glove wearer did the painting. Doubt if Adam did the killing. He had no real emotional investment in that, nor would money be an incentive since he would be implicated by proximity. This was meant to be a terroristic interrogation that started with a surprise pepper spray (red dye on tissue and towel), 4 conks on the head, and the binding. During the questioning she screamed, and then was silenced by the gag. The door was painted in her view to taunt her. She was probably left hooded with the plastic bag under the blanket seated. Then the murderer decided to strangle her and broke her hyoid bone leaving no damage to the back of the neck. All the hanging stuff was done later, and she was probably never suspended.
@DEVinDETAILS...aah geez!! My throat is burning! I got a small cannister of CSTearGas/RedPepper spray and just tried it on a paper towel. It left a stain that was a dark ORANGE RUST, (not red) color. (I caution readers not to stand down wind...even a slight blowback/wiff is painful! Oh Lordy...it sure has a horrible sting...ugh.) I think I'm going to stick to looking at photos and listening to the audio, from now on :) Anyway, maybe other types of pepper spray have a deeper RED DYE...does anyone know? I thought pepper spray also left a long lasting stain on the skin. The cannister was small and easy to conceal in the pocket of my zippered jacket.
Why would LE interview/interrogat NN for 6 hours?? Wouldn't the "high-tech pinging cell phone" indicate his location? (Y'all know how much pinging cell phone info has been used in this investigation, right?)
THEY USED THIS ON REBECCA ( WHAT THE HELL) ? how do they know ?

In this X-ray photograph, received by AFP on Feb. 8, 2013, a mobile phone and a hands-free kit are seen in the rectum of a 58-year-old Sri Lankan prisoner.
World's most unfortunate butt dial?
A prisoner at Welikada jail in Colombo, Sri Lanka, got into trouble this week, after he attempted to hide a smuggled cell phone in his rectum.
The Agence France-Presse reports that the 58-year-old convict had concealed the phone, along with a hands-free headset, in his body cavity. The items were discovered when prison guards heard a suspicious ringing.
"Guards knew he had a phone at the wrong end," an unidentified guard told the AFP.
An X-ray taken of the prisoner in a local hospital reveals the phone and handset in all their glory. No word on what happened to the phone in question. Story continues below. Other prisoners at Welikada also seem to take their cell phones seriously. In November, at least 27 people were killed when prisoners rioted during a search for illegal phones and drugs, reports Reuters.
Apparently, Brazilian prisoners are pretty passionate about their phone, as well. In January, a prisoner apparently tried to smuggle in a cell phone, earphone, memory card, charge, drill and saw on the back of a cat. According to Reuters, the hapless, duct-taped feline was "detained" by authorities, who quoted a prison spokesperson as saying, "It's tough to find out who's responsible for the action as the cat doesn't speak."
In the U.S., while it is a crime to possess a cell phone in federal prison, illegal phone seizures have increased dramatically, according to the Washington Post. But this has not prevented prisoners from attempting to smuggle phones in their "privater" areas. Gizmodo got the scoop from a Sergeant Don McGraw of California's San Quentin State Prison. According to the Sergeant, inmates often use bathrooms as a way to pass phones from friends on the outside to inmates:
"An inmate's associate on the outside will have taped a package (of phones, drugs, tobacco, etc.) to the back of the women's toilet, for example," said the Sergeant. "When the inmates come to clean, they toss it in with the rest of the trash, then sort through it later. Then, when when nobody's looking, whoop, up the butt it goes."
The Israeli army arrested 25 Palestinians, including 23 Hamas members, three
of whom are politicians, in predawn raids.

An Israeli military spokesman spoke only to confirm that "25 Palestinians were arrested,
23 of them belonged to Hamas".
Hamas also released a statement which said: "It is a criminal act that will
not succeed in stopping their struggle."
It added: "We in the Hamas movement strongly condemn the campaign of
arbitrary arrests that took in dozens of Hamas leaders." Palestinian sources
said nine members of the movements were arrested in Nablus, with others detained
in Bethlehem, Tulkarm, Ramallah and Hebron.
The three parliament members were named as Hatem Kafisha and Mohammad Al-Tal,
arrested in Hebron, and Ahmad Atoun, detained in Ramallah.
Mr Atoun, who was born in Jerusalem, was expelled from the city in 2011 by
Israel for seeking election as a Hamas politician.
All three are members of the Hamas-backed Change and Reform bloc, which has
74 members in the 132-seat Palestinian Authority Legislative Council.
The IDF also arrested top Hamas figures Adnan Asfour, Baker Bilal and Omar
al-Jabarini.
Dr Hanan Ashrawi, a PLO Executive Committee member, accused Israel of
"deliberately breaching international law and conventions relating to the
immunity of democratically elected Palestinian officials".
She said: "It is apparent the Israeli government is implementing a policy of
intimidation and power politics to meddle in Palestinian domestic affairs and to
undermine reconciliation efforts." Hamas, which Israel, the United States and
the European Union consider a terrorist organisation, won the last Palestinian
parliamentary election in 2006.
In 2007, after a unity government collapsed, it seized control of the Gaza
Strip from Western-backed President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah movement.
The two factions signed a reconciliation agreement in 2011 but it has not yet
been fully implemented.
Israel has opposed the agreement on the grounds that Hamas does not recognise
Israel's right to exist.
Sources in the security services have indicated that the country is planning
more arrests of suspected militants in the West Bank to prevent the rising tide
of low-intensity conflict and civil unrest from turning into an uprising.
This comes amid an increase in Palestinian unrest which Israel ties to
fallout from the eight-day battle between Israel and Palestinian militants in
the Gaza Strip in November.
