Knife-wielding man attempts to steal gun from police in bid to get arrested


TOKYO —
Police in Tokyo said Saturday they have arrested a man who walked into a police koban brandishing a knife and demanded to be given a gun.
According to police, the man, who has been named as 52-year-old Masatoshi Kanda, walked into the koban is Nishi-Tokyo on Thursday, brandishing a knife and ordered police officers to hand over a firearm, TBS reported. He was arrested at the scene on a charge of attempted robbery.
During police questioning, Kanda was quoted by police as saying: “Life has been hard and I wanted to get arrested. I thought if I stole a gun, the crime would be more serious.”

HRANA News Agency – Amir Chamani the student activist imprisoned in Tabriz central prison has been freed as he served his whole imprisonment verdict.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), this student activist has been freed from Tabriz prison on October 3, 2013 as he served his imprisonment verdict in prison.

He was arrested by intelligence agents on January 13, 2013 and after two weeks of being under arrest in Tabriz intelligence he was transferred to Tabriz central prison for verdict enforcement.

Amir Chamani was tried on July 5, 2012 and sentenced to six months of imprisonment on charge of insulting the supreme leader and the Islamic Republic founder by branch 1 of Tabriz revolutionary court, as well to three months and one day imprisonment on charge of propaganda against regime and 40 lashes on charge of insulting on the president by branch 104 of Tabriz criminal court.

His 40 lashes verdict was enforced two days before presidential election.

RIO DE JANEIRO – Nine inmates were killed and 20 others injured in a fight between rival gangs at a prison in the northern Brazilian city of São Luis, authorities said Thursday.

The clash at Pedrinhas penitentiary involved jailed members of two drug-trafficking outfits, the Maranhão state government said.

Police recently arrested 16 reputed members of one of the two gangs, Bonde dos 40, which is seen as the most powerful criminal organization in the state.

The brawl inside the prison was followed by the burning of eight municipal buses in attacks across the city of São Luís. Police suspect the arson incidents were connected to the conflict at Pedrinhas.

Another group of protestors are lying under a bus off I-10 and Frontage. That bus is filled with immigrants headed to federal criminal court.
The group "No More Deportations" says this court, known as Operation Streamline, "represents the worst of the criminalization of immigrants."
Tucson Police Dept. along with Border Patrol agents are at the scene. News Four Tucson has a crew at the court house and is working to gather more information.

Oaxaca. - Three months before the Mazatec Indian  Irma Lopez gave birth last week in the yard of a clinic in San Felipe Jalapa de Diaz , Oaxaca , Cristina Lopez went through the same and to date no authority state or federal health official has visited to check on her and her daughter.

Since the birth of my daughter no doctor has revised , has given no medicine , no one has come to see how Jeny is fortunately she has not been sick , she looks healthy ," said the young Indian to the newspaper Reforma'.

The Indian woman is the mother of five daughters , the first is 7 years and the second five , the third three , the fourth year and a half , and now Jeny only 3 months.
She explained that her husband is unemployed and live on what they harvested in his small plot, so that resources are insufficient.

That night we were at the door for a half an hour , and saw that within the health center had a nurse and a doctor were hiding . My baby fell in the grass, then hurriedly , came the nurse to cut the umbilical cord , "she recalled ".
