Iran - protest over woman's death " Hotel set on fire ", Today

Iran - Another " Mother or activist arrested ", taken to Evin prison

NCRI- Clerical regime’s intelligence elements raided the home of journalist and human rights activist Ms. Narges Mohammadi on Tuesday, May 5, arresting and transferring her to Evin Prison. Ms. Mohammadi attempted to prevent entry of droves of mercenaries who were there to arrest her, but regime’s intelligence elements threatened her and forcibly took her with them.
Ms. Mohammadi was arrested albeit the fact that on May 3, she had been tried in the mullahs, “revolutionary court” headed by henchman Salavati on charges of “propaganda against the system, assembly and collaboration against the national security, and establishment and membership in a proscribed group”. However, this sham trial was deferred to a later session as her lawyers protested the legal procedure and the fact that they had not been allowed to study the case despite their repeated referrals to the “court”.

Since her charges were “allegations of a civil activist that should be investigated in public courts and not the revolutionary court” Ms. Narges Mohammadi had requested a public court to consider her allegations.
As a mother of two, Ms. Mohammadi was arrested in June 2010 and sentenced to six years in prison. Due to the tortures and the abhorring condition of regime’s prisons, she had nervous and developed muscle paralysis during her interrogation period. As her condition deteriorated, she was freed upon a verdict of “unable to tolerate the punishment” after putting up a heavy bail.
As news on Ms. Mohammadi’s arrest got out, a group of mothers and families of martyrs of the uprising gathered in front of Evin Prison to protest her arrest by Khamenei’s henchmen.
Ms. Sarvnaz Chitsaz, Chair of Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, called on international human rights agencies and the organs advocating women’s rights to condemn the arbitrary arrests by the mullahs’ regime and to take effective measures to secure the release of Ms. Narges Mohammadi and other women political prisoners.
