San Diego ( Border patrol Agents found 17 bricks of cocaine worth 500,000 in a truck )

 

SAN DIEGO – Several packages of methamphetamine and cocaine with a street value of more than $1 million were seized in separate operations over the long July 4th holiday weekend in Southern California, the Border Patrol said.

Agents at the checkpoint in San Clemente, north of San Diego, found 18 packets of methamphetamine worth $639,400 in a 1995 Saturn after a drug-sniffing dog indicated that narcotics might be in the trunk, Border Patrol spokeswoman Mary Beth Caston said.

Border Patrol agents stopped a 2002 Ford Explorer pick-up driven by a woman in her 40s on July 3 on I-15.

The woman gave permission for a search and a drug-sniffing dog indicated that narcotics might be in the vehicle.

Agents found 17 bricks of cocaine worth $494,670 in the pick-up truck, Caston said.

The Border Patrol did not identify the suspects, but it said the smugglers, the narcotics and the vehicles were turned over to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. EFE
