PANAMA CITY – Panamanian authorities arrested six people and seized more than two tons of cocaine in two separate operations, the government said Monday.
The National Aeronaval Service, or Senan, said Monday in a communique that it seized 2,201 kilograms (4,848 pounds) of cocaine last Friday on the island of Bastimento, which borders on Costa Rica.
Three Panamanians were arrested and a 36-foot-long speedboat was confiscated.
Meanwhile, Panama’s Senafront border agency announced Monday that it seized 210 packets of cocaine during an operation in Darien province, which borders on Colombia.
