Putin says Russia’s goal in Syria is to counter terrorism

MOSCOW, November 3. /TASS/. Russia is pursuing a policy of cooperation with all forces in countering terrorism, regardless of their religious denominations, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday.
He stressed that Russia’s chief goal in Syria is to rebuff terrorists.
"We are ready to cooperate with all forces who are countering terrorism, regardless of their religious denominations. And we are doing this work rather intensively," he said at a meeting with people of science and culture and representatives from religious and public organizations of Russia’s North Caucasian Republic of Dagestan while visiting an exhibition dedicated to the 2,000th anniversary of the Dagestani city of Derbent in Russia’s Museum of History. The exhibition will open for general public on November 4.
"Our goal, indeed, both in Syria and anywhere else, is to counter terrorism," Putin underscored.
