India ( Man arrested for the torture of his " 11-year-old maid " )

MUMBAI: Indian police have arrested a trader for allegedly torturing a 11-year-old maid who was forced to eat chillies which were also rubbed on her body, an official said, in the latest abuse of domestic servants.
Sarjil Ansari, a 38-year-old napkin seller, was arrested at the weekend and his wife Farhat was being questioned, said an investigating police officer in Thane district neighboring Mumbai.
The couple bought the girl in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh for 15,000 rupees ($240) from her parents about a year ago on the pretext that she would be well looked after and given a better education, the officer said, declining to be named.

“They used to regularly torture and beat up the girl. The girl complained that she was forced to eat chillies, which were also applied on her body,” he said. This would happen when she urinated out of stress or fear, he added.
“Often the family would turn up the volume on their home music system to muffle her cries for help.”
Local media reported that the couple rubbed chillies on the girl’s genitals as punishment, but the officer said he was not aware of the claim.
He said police were alerted when neighbors notified them about possible mistreatment of the girl, whose tasks included cleaning and looking after the couple’s baby, despite her own young age.
The girl is now in the care of a local non-governmental organization, and a case will be registered against the couple once the investigations are completed, the officer said.
The case is the latest of alleged abuse of domestic servants in in India, where thousands of workers, often children trafficked from remote and poverty-stricken states, toil for long hours in homes with almost no legal protection.
In October last year, a teenage girl working as a maid in New Delhi was hospitalized after being rescued from a home where campaigners said she was slashed with knives and mauled by dogs.
In 2006 India passed legislation banning employment of children under 14 in households, roadside eateries and hotels, but the law is widely flouted in the country of 1.2 billion people

Saudi Arabia ( Sabria S. Jawhar reporter - Stop blaming Western Media for Gender Crimes )

There is a war on Saudi women these days that was impossible to conceive just a generation ago. Increasing sexual assaults, harassment in public places, blaming women for the ills of Saudi society, and now, according to a report published Friday, verbal abuse directed at wives.
It is all pretty disconcerting.

In my mother’s day, such abuse hardly existed. Although statistics are not            available that addressed Saudi social demographics in the 1960s and 1970s, anecdotal evidence of the period suggest that fathers and husbands generally took their faith seriously and put an emphasis on harmonious family relationships.
Today, the family dynamics are radically different. The Internet, satellite television, the ease of traveling abroad and educational opportunities for women have changed the Saudi landscape. The intellectual growth of women in education and at the workplace has had a profound impact on Saudis. And the consequences are, well, many people do not like it. These changes have pushed both men and women out of their comfort zones. Many women are embracing it. Many men are not.
And as a result many people are acting out, betraying our Islamic faith and our obligations to Saudi society. And the abuse is heaped on women, who are benefiting the most from the changes in society. We see with sickening regularity video clips of men chasing women from malls into the parking lot. A man just the other day was videotaped reportedly molesting a young girl. So-called religious men advocate abusing women in the workplace so they will quit and return home.
Then we have a new poll from the King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue, which found that a majority of the 992 men polled said that women wearing eyeliner and mascara are responsible for men sexually assaulting women. Typical victim blaming.
Part of the problem is that Saudi law enforcement remains mired in the 19th century and is far from catching up with 21st century technology and the 21st century lifestyle of Saudi youths. The Saudi Ministry of Justice has been talking about codifying its legal system for years now, but we have seen little evidence of any intent to a standardize legal system that will make sexual assault, harassment and abuse illegal with real-world consequences.
Now, we have a new study that reports that 73 percent of all Saudi women suffer some form of verbal abuse. Verbal abuse is defined by the study as humiliating a wife in public, demanding that a woman be silent in public, threats of physical abuse, denigrating a woman’s personal appearances, using sexually explicit profanities against her, and not speaking her name. Sadly, 31 percent of the 285 women polled said they consider themselves responsible for their husband’s verbal abuse, while 17 percent apologize for their actions that purportedly caused the abuse.
There have been suggestions that Hollywood movies are to be blamed for the increase in verbal abuse of women. That is all pretty much hogwash since it allows men — like the guys who sexually assault women who wear too much eye makeup — off the hook for their behavior.
We have a neighbor next door to use who screams at his wife and children every single day, sometimes from morning until night. The daughters, whom all seem to be under 14, wear no makeup and are as quiet as mosque mice when they step out of the apartment on those rare occasions. The mother is never seen. The girls do not wear makeup, and given their age, I see no evidence that they deserve his reign of terror.
But what I do hear is the kids behaving in the same manner as their father. What I fear is the cycle of verbal abuse will be handed down from one generation to another. Those fathers who verbally abuse their wives and the brothers who harass women at malls and claim they were provoked into raping a woman are setting an example for the younger generation of men to wage war on women.
Answers can be found in Islam, but blaming western media and educated women who happen to wear makeup is the coward’s way out of solving the problem.

India ( Handgun named after rape victim " Fearless 32. cal " Activists mad ) Nirbheek "fearless"

NEW DELHI: An Indian handgun designed for women and named after the victim of a fatal gang-rape in Delhi was condemned by rights activists on Sunday as a disgrace to her memory.
The lightweight .32 calibre revolver was developed by the state-run Indian Ordnance Factory (IOF) and can fit inside a small purse or handbag, according to a newspaper report.

The factory in the northern city of Kanpur has received 20 orders since the titanium-alloy, six-shot gun — costing 122,360 rupees ($1,976) — was launched earlier this month, the Times of India said.
"At least 80 percent of the bookings are from women," IOF general manager Abdul Hameed told the newspaper, adding that more orders were expected soon.
"Expectedly, the weapon has received a very good response," he said.
The gun is called "Nirbheek" meaning "fearless" in Hindi and was intended as a tribute to the 23-year-old student whose brutal attack in India's capital in December 2012 sparked outrage about the levels of violence against women in India.
The student was given the nickname Nirbhaya (also meaning fearless) by the media and authorities after the attack because she could not be named under Indian law.
But activists said the gun showed Indian authorities "completely misunderstood" how they were supposed to protect women from high levels of violence across the country.
"It really is an insult to the memory of Nirbhaya," said Binalakshmi Nepram, founder of the Manipur Women Gun Survivors Network said Sunday.
"Our research shows that a person is 12 times more likely to be shot dead if they are carrying a gun when attacked," she told AFP.
"It also shows that the government of India has failed to protect women by resorting to this. Arming women is not a responsible way to secure their safety and security," she said.
The Indian government was introduced tougher laws for rapists and other offenders and a range of other judicial and policing reforms in the wake of outrage over the student's attack on a moving bus.
The attack shone a global spotlight on India's treatment of women, sparked protests and unleashed seething public anger about the daily harassment and violence facing women.

Eric Snowden News ( Aliens on earth " Tall Whites " working with U.S in Nevada ) Hmm

A stunning Federal Security Services (FSB) report on the nearly two million highly classified top-secret documents obtained from the United States Department of Defense (DOD) run National Security Agency-Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) by the American ex-patriot Edward Snowden states that this information is providing “incontrovertible proof” that an “alien/extraterrestrial intelligence agenda” is driving US domestic and international policy, and has been doing so since at least 1945, Whatdoesitmean.com reported.

Edward Snowden is a computer specialist, a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) employee, and former NSA/CSS contractor who disclosed these classified documents to several media outlets in late 2012 and was granted temporary asylum in Russia in 2013 after his designation by the Obama regime as the “most wanted man on earth.”
This FSB report further states that Snowden, in December, 2012, contacted the highly respected American columnist, blogger, and author Glenn Greenwald by an email headed with the subject line stating, “I and others have things you would be interested in.?.?.?.”
In Snowden’s own words, this report continues, he outlined to Greenwald the reason for his highly secretive group obtaining and releasing these documents by warning that that there “were actually two governments in the US, the one that was elected, and the other, secret regime, governing in the dark.”
As to who is running this “secret regime” Snowden and his cohorts were warning about, FSB experts in this report say, was confirmed this past weekend by former Canadian defense minister Paul Hellyer who was given access to all of Snowden’s documents by Russian intelligence services and stated they were, indeed, “accurate.”
Even though Defense Minister Hellyer’s exact statements to the FSB in regards to Snowden’s documents remain classified, shortly after his “extensive electronic interview” by the FSB he was allowed to appear on Russia Today’s program SophieCo this past fortnight where he shockingly admitted that aliens have “been visiting our planet for thousands of years” and described several types of these extraterrestrials, including “Tall Whites” who are working with the US Air Force in Nevada.
Of the many explosive revelations in this FSB report, the one most concerning to Russian authorities are the Snowden’s documents “confirming” that the “Tall Whites” (further revealed by Defense Minister Hellyer as noted above) are the same extraterrestrial alien race behind the stunning rise of Nazi Germany during the 1930’s.
In just one example of the many outlined in this FSB report, it shows that with this “alien assistance,” at the end of the 1930’s, when Nazi Germany possessed just 57 submarines, over the four years of World War II it built 1,163 modern technologically advanced submarines at its dockyards and even put them into operation.
Snowden’s documents further confirm, this report says, the “Tall Whites” (Nordic) meetings in 1954 with US President Dwight D. Eisenhower where the “secret regime” currently ruling over America was established.
Most disturbingly, this FSB report warns, is that the “Tall White” agenda being implemented by the “secret regime” ruling the United States calls for the creation of a global electronic surveillance system meant to hide all true information about their presence here on earth as they enter into what one of Snowden’s documents calls the “final phase” of their end plan for total assimilation and world rule.
Unbeknownst to the FSB, this report confirms, are those still in the US government backing Snowden, but whose presence Russian intelligence experts note is “unmistakable” and shows a cataclysmic power struggle is currently underway against this “secret regime” now headed by Obama by “forces unknown.”
Most to be feared by Russian policy makers and authorities, this report concludes, is if those opposing the “Tall White” “secret regime” ruled over by Obama have themselves aligned with another alien-extraterrestrial power themselves.

Palestinian Territories ( Palestinians on Saturday hailed the death of former Israeli premier Ariel Sharon )

RAMALLAH, Palestinian Territories: Palestinians on Saturday hailed the death of former Israeli premier Ariel Sharon, describing him as a “criminal” but regretting that he is now permanently beyond the reach of the law.
Human Rights Watch (HRW) also lamented the fact Sharon was never prosecuted, particularly over his role in the 1982 massacre of hundreds of Palestinians by Israel’s Lebanese Phalangist allies in Beirut’s Sabra and Shatila refugee camps.
sharon_web.jpg

“It’s a shame that Sharon has gone to his grave without facing justice for his role in Sabra and Shatila and other abuses,” HRW’s Middle East director Sarah Leah Whitson said in a statement.
“For the thousands of victims of abuses, Sharon’s passing without facing justice magnifies their tragedy.”
Sharon had been in a coma for the past eight years since suffering a massive stroke on January 4, 2006, just months after pulling all troops and settlers out of the Gaza Strip. His condition worsened last week and he died at a hospital near Tel Aviv on Saturday.
The news prompted an outburst of celebration in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, where around a hundred Islamic Jihad members burned pictures of him and handed out sweets, a spokesman said.
For the ruling Islamist Hamas movement, which seized power in Gaza in 2007, just two years after the Israeli pullout, Sharon’s death “is a lesson for all tyrants.”
“Our people are living at a historic moment with the disappearance of this criminal whose hands were covered with the blood of Palestinians and their leaders,” said Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri.
Among those killed by Israel during Sharon’s term in office was Hamas’s wheelchair-bound spiritual leader, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, who was killed in an air strike on Gaza City in 2004.
Similar sentiments were expressed in the West Bank, where a senior official also blasted him as a “criminal” and accused Sharon of being responsible for the mysterious death in the same year of veteran Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.
“Sharon was a criminal, responsible for the assassination of Arafat, and we would have hoped to see him appear before the International Criminal Court as a war criminal,” said Jibril Rajub, a senior official of the ruling Fatah party.
Arafat was Sharon’s nemesis and the burly Israeli leader often expressed regret at not killing him during the 1982 invasion of Beirut.
After the Palestinian leader fell mysteriously ill while under a tight Israeli siege in 2004, dying in France several weeks later, rumors swirled that Israel had poisoned him.
Israel has repeatedly denied the allegations.
“We had hoped he would be brought before the International Criminal Court (ICC) as a war criminal,” said Rajub, who was head of the Palestinian security services when Sharon sent troops to the West Bank in a mass operation to wipe out militant groups in 2002.
“Sharon’s history is blackened by his crimes and written in the blood of the Palestinians,” said Jamal Huweil, a former militant from the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, an armed offshoot of Fatah.
“The curse of our blood will follow him to his grave,” said Huweil who is now a member of the Palestinian parliament, the PLC.
Human Rights Watch said that the failure to bring Sharon to justice had in no way helped the search for peace.
“His passing is another grim reminder that years of virtual impunity for rights abuses have done nothing to bring Israeli-Palestinian peace any closer. For the thousands of victims of abuses,” Whitson said.
As minister of defense, Sharon was forced to resign following the Beirut camp killings of 1982 after an Israeli commission of inquiry found he had been “indirectly responsible” for the massacre.
The commission found that Sharon had disregarded the “serious consideration... that the Phalangists were liable to commit atrocities,” recommending that he be dismissed as defense minister, HRW said

IDF Lieutenant Noam Rubinstein, 22, died on Thursday while traveling in Cerro Castillo in southern Chile.

Rubinstein, traveling with another Israel tourist, injured her ankle in the remote mountain range.

The accompanying friend left to get help, but a rescue team arrived just hours after Rubinstein succumbed to hypothermia.

"When we arrived at the scene we saw a woman lying on the ground, and immediately we understood that something was wrong. We tried to finds signs of life, but there were none," Jorje Gaurdio, head of the local rescue team, told local media.

Rubinstein had been backpacking in South America after finishing her regular military service.

She was planning on returning to Israel for permanent service as an IDF officer.

The IDF said that the family has been notified and is working in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry to repatriate her body.

Rubinstein was from Misgav in northern Israel, and is survived by her parents and two brothers

Iran ( Iran's Supreme Leader Describes US as 'Satan' Ahead of Nuclear Talks )

By Katherine Weber, Christian Post Reporter
January 10, 2014|3:20 pm
Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali KhameneiIran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said on Thursday that nuclear negotiation talks with the U.S. reveal the western country's enmity toward Iran and Islam. He also described the U.S. as "Satan."
While speaking in the religious city of Qom, Khamenei said that the talks between Iran and the U.S. do reveal America's enmity, but this enmity will not stop the Middle Eastern country from pursuing negotiations for their nuclear weapons program and an easing of their international sanctions.
"We had announced previously that on certain issues, if we feel it is expedient, we would negotiate with the Satan (the United States) to deter its evil," Khamenei said, as reported by the official IRNA news agency.
"The nuclear talks showed the enmity of America against Iran, Iranians, Islam and Muslims," the leader continued.
Khamenei went on to say that while the "the enemy's smile shouldn't be taken seriously," on key issues Iran "will negotiate with this Satan, to deter its evil and solve problems."
Khamenei's comments were made hours before Iran and the European Union resumed nuclear negotiation talks in Geneva. In November, an interim agreement had been reached that would halt part of Iran's nuclear activities in exchange for eased sanctions, a deal that would benefit the oil producer's struggling economy. This temporary deal would be enacted for six months until a final settlement was reached, but the interim agreement has yet to be implemented. Iran met with the European Union on Thursday to sort out "remaining technical issues" relating to the deal.
