31 YEAR OLD MICHEAL CRANE ARRESTED (FOR MURDER AND KILLING ARIZONA COUPLE)

PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) - A 31-year-old man has been arrested and faces murder charges in the death of an Arizona couple found tied up and burned beyond recognition, and four others have also been arrested in the case, police said Tuesday.
The bodies of Lawrence and Glenna Shapiro, well-to-do philanthropists in their 70s, were discovered on Jan. 30 in their stylish home in the affluent Phoenix suburb of Paradise Valley.
Until Tuesday, Paradise Valley police had released few details about the bizarre crime, including whether the Shapiros were robbed or what they think the motive might have been.
Police said Michael Crane would face two murder charges, as well as kidnapping, armed robbery, arson and burglary charges. The other four suspects were facing theft or trafficking in stolen property charges.
The murders were the first in Paradise Valley since 2004 and shook neighbors, police and the town mayor. Police Chief John Bennett said Tuesday that there was no evidence to indicate the Shapiros were specifically targeted.

Earlier Tuesday, family and friends gathered in a packed downtown Phoenix theater for a memorial service for the couple.

Authorities believe an explosion and fire at the home of Josh Powell has killed him and his two children.

Police are awaiting verification from the Medical Examiner’s Office, but they believe the three dead are the husband of missing Utah woman Susan Powell and their two children, said Ed Troyer of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.

The explosion occurred moments after a Child Protective Services worker brought the two boys to the home for a supervised visit, said Graham Fire and Rescue Chief Gary Franz.

Powell let the boys in the house, then blocked the social worker from entering. The social worker called her supervisors to report that she could smell gas, and the home exploded.

"Everything we know right now, this has become a crime scene," Franz said.

Last week, a judge ordered that Powell’s sons, Charlie, 7 and Braden, 5, remain in the custody of their grandparents, Chuck and Judy Cox.

The boys were removed from Josh Powell’s custody on Sept. 22, the same day Josh Powell’s father, Steve Powell, with whom the three were living, was arrested and charged for possessing child pornography.

Josh Powell has denied any role in his wife’s disappearance and recently asked the judge to move his sons to a neutral caretaker, claiming his missing wife’s parents — who have publicly implicated Josh Powell in their daughter’s disappearance — are turning their two sons against him.

Susan Powell was reported missing Dec. 7, 2009. Her husband told police he last saw his wife around midnight, when he put their sons in the family’s minivan and took them on a late-night camping trip in Utah’s west desert.

West Valley City Police Chief Buzz Nielson told Fox13 News he was sending a team of police officers up to Washington Sunday and he would go up on Monday.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — An activist representing relatives of women slain or missing in the border city of Ciudad Juarez has been attacked for the second time in two months.

Mexico City prosecutors say Norma Andrade was walking her granddaugther to school Friday morning when a man carrying a knife attacked her.

The city Attorney General's Office issued a statement saying she was treated hospital for a cut on her face, and it says she did not know the reason for the attack.

Andrade had come to Mexico City for safety after being shot twice outside her Ciudad Juarez home in December.

Andrade founded an organization of relatives of women who have gone missing or been murdered in Ciudad Juarez. Her 17-year-old daughter was tortured, raped and killed in 2001.

McDonalds ( WOMAN SHOT WITH STUN GUN ) OVER NUGGETS

HOPE MILLS, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina deputies say they used a stun gun on a woman who blocked a McDonalds drive-thru for 20 minutes after employees refused to serve her because she broke in line.

Authorities say 37-year-old Evangeline Lucca bypassed the order screen and the line at the restaurant in Hope Mills, about 60 miles south of Raleigh, and pulled directly up to the pick-up window Friday afternoon.
Cumberland County deputies say employees refused to take her order and told her to go to the back of the line. She refused to move, and police were called.

Authorities say Lucca was shocked after she blocked the line for 20 minutes. Her 3-year-old daughter was taken into protective custody.
Lucca was charged with second-degree trespass. A phone listing for her couldn't be found.

Dozens came from the community in the hills about 95 miles (150 kilometers) south of the Texas border, where the couple had many friends and ministered to the poor.

ERIC HOLDERS PROSECUTORS ( TAKE CASH BRIBES ) WINK and NOD JUSTICE

 A U.S. Justice Department source has told The Daily Caller that at least two DOJ prosecutors accepted cash bribes from allegedly corrupt finance executives who were indicted under court seal within the past 13 months, but never arrested or prosecuted.
The sitting governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands, his attorney general and an unspecified number of Virgin Islands legislators also accepted bribes, the source said, adding that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is aware prosecutors and elected officials were bribed and otherwise compromised, but has not held anyone accountable.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

The bribed officials, an attorney with knowledge of the investigation told TheDC, remain on the taxpayers’ payroll at the Justice Department without any accountability. The DOJ source said Holder does not want to admit public officials accepted bribes while under his leadership.

PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) — Two people were tied up and killed, and their bodies burned beyond recognition in a posh Phoenix suburb, shaking residents who were being told to lock their doors and pay attention to their surroundings and a police department that last investigated a homicide in 2004.
Police in Paradise Valley, most known for its scenic mountain trails and upscale resorts, said Wednesday that investigators were not able to positively identify the bodies because they were so badly burned. An autopsy was under way Wednesday to determine the identities and whether the people were killed in the fire or by other means.
"This particular crime is a heinous crime and it can happen anywhere," said Police Chief John Bennett. "People in Paradise Valley hopefully understand it can happen even to them."
He said investigators had no suspects and had not determined a motive, including whether the stylish stucco home had been robbed.

"This has been a very trying two days for us," Bennett said a news conference. "This is going to be a prolonged, complex investigation that's going to take probably quite a lot of time."
Paradise Valley officers went to the home Monday morning after Phoenix police found a car on fire behind a strip mall about 20 miles away. The car was registered to the home's owners.
When an officer arrived at the house, she saw smoke coming from inside. Firefighters put out fires that had been set in two bedrooms, including the master bedroom, where the bodies were found.
The home is owned by Lawrence and Glenna Shapiro, a couple in their 70s that started their own charitable organization in 2010 and have actively supported many local civic organizations and charities.

That information came in a series of e-mails in which the former US attorney in Arizona, Dennis Burke, discussed the F&F’s first fatality, agent Brian Terry, with a Holder deputy. The e-mails were sent in the early hours of Dec. 15, 2010, the day Terry died of wounds received the day before in a shootout 18 miles inside the US border, near Nogales.
The deputy, Monty Wilkinson, responded: “Tragic. I’ve alerted the AG.”
Burke, an anti-gun fanatic whose appointment as US attorney in 2009 roughly coincided with the start of F&F, goes on to tell Wilkinson later that day: “The guns found in the desert near the murder of the BP officer connect back to the investigation we were going to talk about — they were AK-47s purchased at a Phoenix gun store.”

That’s right. The government’s top law-enforcement officer has been turning a blind eye to a cancer in his department for more than a year.
Yet he’s repeatedly played the innocent in his various appearances before Rep. Darrell Issa’s House Oversight Committee. Watch for Issa (R.-Calif.) to hit him hard on what appears to be close to perjury.

FOXCONN workers SUICIDE RATE HIGH (MAKERS OF) Apple, Sonny,Nintendo

The workers were eventually coaxed down after two days on top of their three-floor plant in Wuhan by Foxconn managers and local Chinese Communist party officials.

Foxconn, which manufactures gadgets for the likes of Apple, Sony, Nintendo and HP, among many others, has had a grim history of suicides at its factories. A suicide cluster in 2010 saw 18 workers throw themselves from the tops of the company's buildings, with 14 deaths.

In the aftermath of the suicides, Foxconn installed safety nets in some of its factories and hired counsellors to help its workers.

The latest protest began on January 2 after managers decided to move around 600 workers to a new production line, making computer cases for Acer, a Taiwanese computer company.

"We were put to work without any training, and paid piecemeal," said one of the protesting workers, who asked not to be named. "The assembly line ran very fast and after just one morning we all had blisters and the skin on our hand was black. The factory was also really choked with dust and no one could bear it," he said.

A Texas Medical Center student and Iranian activist was shot dead on Monday in Houston.
Gelareh Bagherzadeh was driving her car near her parents house when she was shot.
"When the officer arrived, the car's tires were still spinning," Officer J.C. Padilla told click2houston.com. "He had to reach in and turn off the motor."

At the time of the shooting, Bagherzadeh was on the phone with an ex-boyfriend who, according to police, heard "loud thud" and a "screeching noise" but no gunshots. He assumed Bagherzadeh was involved in a car accident.

Heaven's little drummer boy.

My precious angel received his wings today. 

I have had many nightmares about having to write this post. 

He was exactly 2 years and 8 months old.  

It happened within minutes of me picking him up out of bed and rocking him.  

He took his last peaceful breaths in my arms, in his most favorite spot. 

My heart literally hurts more than I ever thought was possible. 

I'm completely lost without him and don't know where to go or what to do when my feet hit the floor.   

I miss him so much it physically hurts. 

 

Please don't forget to thank God for the PEACE we prayed to him for. 

And please bear with me as I try to pull myself together. 

I will let everyone know as soon as I decide on the details of his services. 

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the support through this unbearable time.

I know he's flying high, pain free, and talking Jesus' ear off... 

But that doesn't take away this selfish feeling of wanting him back in my arms.

If Iran closes the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. Navy has a backup plan to save one-fifth of the world's daily oil trade: send in the dolphins.
The threat of Iran closing the strait has reached a fever pitch, reports today's New York Times, with U.S. officials warning Iran's supreme leader that such moves would cross a "red line" provoking a U.S. response. Iran could block the strait with any assortment of mines, armed speed boats or anti-ship cruise missiles but according to Michael Connell at the Center for Naval Analysis, “The immediate issue [for the U.S. military] is to get the mines.” To solve that problem, the Navy has a solution that isn't heavily-advertised but has a time-tested success rate: mine-detecting dolphins.

UPDATE INFO

There is more on this case,the police say the hands and feet were also removed from the body of this male and they are asking for help from the public. This does cast a different angle on this case, I am not sure if the (drug cartel) would bother to remove the feet and hands of one of their victims.
However if one of their victims had strong local ties (the cartel might do this).

California marine biologist is facing up to 20 years in prison and half a million dollars in fines for allegedly feeding a group of killer whales and then altering footage of the incident and lying to authorities.

In addition to her carrying out maritime research, Nancy Black operates the popular Monterey Bay Whale Watch tours and has been featured on PBS, National Geographic and Animal Planet. But on Wednesday, Black was charged with four violations of the Marine Mammal Protection Act. Black's attorneys say she was only doing scientific research.

Hollywood was hit again overnight by a series of arson fires as authorities struggled to catch the person or persons responsible.
Officials reported at least four new fires Saturday night, including one caught on tape at the Hollywood & Highland shopping center on Hollywood Boulevard.
Firefighters responded after 7 p.m. following a report that a car inside the parking deck was on fire, said Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Brian Humphrey. By the time they arrived, the fire was out, Humphrey said.

But a suspect's image may have been captured on one of the structure's video cameras; police were broadcasting a description of a white male in his mid-30s with a receding hairline and a ponytail.
Los Angeles County firefighters were called to 1035 N. Sweetzer Avenue in West Hollywood around 8:30 p.m. They found an apartment house carport with two vehicles on fire and spent 25 minutes dousing the flames, said Don Kunitomi, an on-scene fire inspector.

4 FOUND DEAD (SHOT CORONADO CONDO) SAN DIEGO

CORONADO, Calif. (AP) — An early morning New Year's shooting left four people dead at a condominium near San Diego, authorities said Sunday.

Police responded to a 911 cellphone call of shots fired in Coronado, a wealthy seaside suburb of about 24,000 people on San Diego Bay. Officers found a man in the doorway of the condo. The bodies of two men and a woman were discovered inside the condo.

San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Larry Nesbit said homicide investigators have not determined how any of the four died, though Coronado police officers who were first to arrive believe the man found in the doorway was shot.

"They checked and he had no obvious signs of life. They tried to make contact with anyone else that might be inside the building and they got no response," Nesbit said.

A SWAT team sent in a robot to the first floor and later searched the second and third floors, Nesbit said. The three dead bodies were found in "different parts" of the three-story building.
