BUENOS AIRES – Argentine media shared images from the investigation carried out on the day Nisman was found dead in his house four days after accusing President Cristina Fernandez for alleged concealment of terrorists.
The images are from the investigation into the death of prosecutor Nisman whose body was found in the bathroom of his house on Jan. 18 with a bullet to his head.
Some images reveal a number of people in Nisman’s house including investigators, prosecutor Viviana Fein, in charge of the investigation and the National Security Secretary Sergio Berni.
News channels Todo Noticias and C5N also aired images of prosecutor’s room, unpicked newspapers, half-open door of the bathroom and bloodstains in the bath tub and the apartment.
Other images show the gun given to Nisman by his IT specialist Diego Lagomarsino with which he was shot dead.
Lagomarsino admitted this fact to prosecutor Fein and is the sole accused in the case for providing a gun to a person who was prohibited from using it.
Based on these photographs, investigators appointed by Nisman’s family and headed by his former wife and judge Sandra Arroyo Salgado, have detailed a report claiming that it’s an assassination.
Two months after the appearance of Nisman’s body, the official investigation is yet to determine if it’s a case of suicide or homicide.
“I don’t think it is appropriate to release the contents of the investigation (....) without clarifying with certainty what really happened” prosecutor Fein told Todo Noticias.
The death of Nisman, who was the special prosecutor investigating the attack against the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association, AMIA, building in 1994 in Buenos Aires, is still surrounded by mystery.
Nisman died four days after accusing argentine President and Foreign Minister Hector Timerman, among others, for allegedly orchestrating a plan to exculpate the Iranian terrorists accused of attacking the Jewish organization.
Nisman’s complaint was dismissed by federal judge Daniel Rafecas but prosecutor German Moldes Thursday appealed against the first instance ruling before the Court of Appeals.
The court must now decide whether to place the appeal and take up the complaint made by Nisman in January.
