The inhumane mullahs’ regime has on the verge of the new school year in Iran resorted to increasing its pressures on teachers and their unions, all in fear of protests and widespread strikes by teachers and students joining their ranks. In recent days authorities have arrested Seyed Mansour Mousavi from his home in Tehran.
We are also witnessing a wave of arrests by the Ministry of Intelligence, apprehending Mohammad Reza Nik-Nezhad and Mehdi Bahlulu on August 31st, and also Mahmoud Beheshti Langaroudi, spokesman of the Teachers Union on September 6th.
Pressures are also increasing on teachers already in prison. On Sunday, September 20th a teacher by the name of Ali Akbar Baghani was transferred from ward 4 of Gohardasht Prison in Karaj (west of Tehran) to ward 2 of this jail. It is worth noting that Baghani was held in the political prisoners’ hall in ward 4, and his recent transfer to ward 2 places him alongside dangerous ordinary prisoners.
