Cleveland Browns Employee Kills Himself at Team’s Practice Facility

BEREA, Ohio (AP) — A member of the Cleveland Browns’ grounds crew killed himself at their practice facility, the team said in a statement Sunday.
The man’s body was found Saturday morning at the facility in suburban Cleveland, the same day Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher committed suicide in front of his coach and general manager after earlier killing his girlfriend. Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reported the body was found hanging in an equipment shed.
Browns spokesman Neal Gulkis released a statement calling the man a good friend and an outstanding employee and saying the team’s heartfelt condolences go out to his family.
“This is a terrible tragedy,” the statement said. “He will be missed by everyone in the Cleveland Browns organization.”
The Browns play in Oakland against the Raiders on Sunday.
A spokesman for the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner said they were called to the practice facility to investigate a suicide Saturday morning, but would not release any further details.

I respectfully ask that you would be an advocate for Sergeant Bergdahl and that you would support every opportunity that would present itself to bring him home. A man believed to be involved with an explosion at a Social Security administration building on Friday is in custody.

A source close to the investigation confirms to FOX 10 that Abdul Latif Aldosary is in federal custody for allegedly causing an explosion on Friday.

Aldosary's Coolidge home was searched by FBI agents, sheriff's deputies and members of the bomb squad Friday night. Detectives haven't said what was found at his home.

He is expected make his first court appearance on Monday. He is facing numerous state and federal charges in connection to the explosion and fire.

Someone threw something out of a car window at the office Friday morning, causing a fire to start just before 8:30 a.m. There was minimal damage to the building -- the entry door was blackened and charred -- but no one was hurt.

Police and firefighters were the first to arrive on the scene, but soon after, federal agents joined the investigation.

Dozens of homes in the Martin Valley community in Coolidge were evacuated as a precaution Friday night while the search warrant was served.

As a throwback Las Vegas magician might say while whipping the sheet of his latest trick, "Alakazam!" The 2013 NASCAR Chevrolet SS race car has just been unveiled in Vegas and these are the first images. It will campaign in the top-tier Sprint Cup series next year, replacing the Impala nameplate that has done 12 years in stock car racing over two stints, the most recent from 2007 to the end of this year's season.

There are more hopes resting on the bulging wheel arches of the NASCAR SS than race wins. True, even though it's powered by a small-block Chevrolet V8, its Car of Tomorrow architecture means it bears little actual connection to the coming SS production sedan. But there's every hope the race car can provide an oval-tested halo for that road car, the latter being the first Chevrolet sedan in 17 years to be rear-wheel drive.

Chevrolet says that a "limited production version" of the SS will hit dealer showrooms late next year as a 2014-model-year sedan. Before that, the NASCAR SS will debut at next year's Daytona Speed Week that runs from February 16-23. Supposedly during that week, on February 21, the production car will be revealed, too – the same day as the next-generation Holden Commodore, which birthed the SS, is being revealed in Australia.

TUCSON Az ( Tucson Police take 2 hours to respond to 5 -911 calls)

It took police 2 1/2 hours to respond to five frantic 911 calls from a midtown library where a fight involving four boys broke out in the parking lot before spilling inside the library.
No library patrons or staff were injured, but the facility was locked down for 45 minutes once the boys left, while staff members tried to get police to respond.
Tucson Police Department officials declined to comment until they have time to research what happened.

The incident started at about 4 p.m. Wednesday, when four teenage boys began fighting in the parking lot of the Martha Cooper Library, 1377 N. Catalina Ave.
"Library staff, because of this disorderly conduct situation, contacted 911," said Pima County Public Library spokeswoman Kenya Johnson.
The fight eventually made its way into the library.
The fistfight stopped for a while, but threats and other unruly behavior continued, Johnson said.
"They were still being disruptive. They were being just intimidating. ... They weren't engaging with patrons, but they were still engaging each other," she said.
Library staff also kept calling 911.
After about 45 minutes, the group left the building. Library staff members then locked the doors behind them.
"It was a preventative measure to make sure that their activity didn't put any patrons or staff into harm's way," she said.
Johnson said doors stayed locked for about 45 minutes until they determined it was safe to reopen.
During the approximately 90-minute incident, library staff members called 911 five times, according to Johnson.
No one from TPD arrived at the library until about an hour after the library reopened the doors, she said.
County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry said there have been 911 response issues in the past, but those have been resolved.
As for this incident, he said both sides will have to examine what went wrong and how to prevent a recurrence.
"Everybody wants to take a look at what happened and how to fix it," Huckelberry said. "We just have to redouble our efforts to make sure this doesn't happen again."
For instance, the phone lines at Martha Cooper Library were showing up on the 911 dispatcher's screen with the main library name and address, and that needs to be addressed, Huckelberry said.
"We just want for our employees to be safe and our patrons to be safe," he said.
Huckelberry said the county experienced a spike in 911 calls from libraries when it took control over the entire library system a few years ago. Most of the calls came from libraries within the city.
In the past six months, 149 emergency 911 calls were made from the 27-branch library system.

SAN FRANCISCO ( Asian woman takes on burglar with Bear spray and wooden Samurai sword )

Sick and tired of a burglar stealing packages from homes in her neighborhood, a San Francisco woman took matters into her own hands on Tuesday, according to the Daily Mail.

Luring the thief with a dummy package, Sonya Yu sprayed him with bear repellent and threatened him with a wooden sword, chasing him away. Minutes later, the alleged burglar, Andy Anduha, 51, was apprehended by law enforcement.

Yu, a photographer, recounted the entire incident on her Twitter account as events unfolded.
Yu informed her followers that several items had been stolen by Anduha. "He steals packages from door stoops - stole $1K+ worth from us earlier in the fall. He's been targeting our neighborhood."

"My bear spray, bokken, & I are still not intimidated,'" she tweeted Tuesday at 2:10 p.m. A bokken is a wooden sword used for samurai training.

Shortly after 4:45 p.m. the same day she tweeted, "I GOT HIM WITH THE BEAR SPRAY BUT HE ESCAPED." Then, less than 15 minutes later, "I AM PUTTING HIM UNDER CITIZENS ARREST RIGHT NOW WITH 4 COPS."
Constant tweets concerned for her welfare came in. Yu kept her followers informed, giving them a blow-by-blow of events. Less than three minutes later: "8 COPS HAVE HIM & I JUST CONFIRMED ID. HE IS BEIN TAKEN AWAY IN AN AMBULANCE CUZ OF THE BEAR SPRAY I DOUSED HIM WITH." After Anduha was apprehended she wrote, "The bear spray debilitated him & painted him orange so other cops picked him up within 5 minutes. GOT HIM!"
Yu conceded on Twitter that the police were entertained by her unorthodox methods. "Cops were cracking up when they arrived to see me and my weapons." Hikers and hunters use bear repellent for protection. Yu tweeted she had purchased it at a local REI. Like pepper spray, bear repellent contains "Capsaicin and other Capsaicinoids, red pepper derivatives that affect the eyes and respiratory system," according to REI's website.

Reports are just coming in regarding a tragedy involving the Kansas City Chiefs, but here's what we know at this time. According to KCTV-5 News in Kansas City, a Chiefs player shot and killed his girlfriend at a house near the team's facility on Saturday morning.

The player then drove to a location near the team's main campus and took his own life. Per the Kansas City Star, members of the team's staff tried to stop the player from committing any other acts of violence before the player turned a gun on himself. The Chiefs' Arrowhead practice facility was evacuated and is currently on police lockdown.
"We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning," the team said in a statement this morning. "We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation."
According to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, the name of the player will not be revealed until his family is informed. Glazer also reports that Chiefs players have been asked to assemble at the team's main facility so that they can be informed of all the details.
The Chiefs are scheduled to play the Carolina Panthers at Arrowhead at 1:00 PM ET Sunday, and per Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer, the Panthers have been told by the league to travel to Kansas City as if the game will be played. The Panthers' plane is set to leave at 1:15 PM ET today.
