BAGHDAD – Members of the Islamic State, IS, killed on Monday 34 young people in a town in western Iraq for their alleged collaboration with the Iraqi troops, a local security source told Efe.
The victims belong to a village in al-Baghdadi town, located in the province of al-Anbar.
Monday’s attack coincides with a wide offensive launched earlier in the morning by the Iraqi troops to liberate Saladin province, north of Baghdad.
IS seized control of Mosul, the country’s second largest city, and declared in late June, 2014 the establishment of an Islamic Caliphate in areas under its control in both Iraq and Syria.
