A German man died while vacationing in Spain after he attempted to jump into a pool from a balcony.
The tourist, whose name and age were not released, jumped from a fifth-floor balcony of a hotel in the Catalonia region. He was attempting to jump into the pool below, but did not make it.
It is unclear if he slipped, did not jump far enough, or was injured once in the pool.
Investigators have not determined if drugs or alcohol were involved in the jump, which is just the latest in a series of accidents involving “ballooning.”
The jump reportedly occurred at around 1 a.m.
